Douglas Armstrong is the prize-winning author of four novels, including the upcoming historical thriller, Sun Dog Memory, due out in September. Kirkus Reviews calls the book (set in dust bowl Kansas) a “fast-paced narrative [that] effectively mixes intense family drama with rapid-fire action.”

Armstrong made his long fiction debut in 2010 with the novel, Even Sunflowers Cast Shadows, also set in rural Kansas. The book was named best novel in 2010 by The Council for Wisconsin Writers.

Armstrong’s other books form a trilogy that explores newspaper life in the 1960s. They include Life on The Sun, Color of The Sun, and (coming in 2024) Eclipse of The Sun. His short fiction has appeared in Ellery Queen and Alfred Hitchcock Mystery magazines as well as Boys’ Life.

He is a member of the Mystery Writers of America, the Council for Wisconsin Writers, and the Milwaukee Press Club. He is married and the father of four living in Shorewood, Wisconsin.
